Who will deliver the service?
We have not signed a contract for the delivery of the service with a service provider yet. We went through an open tender process and identified Manaaki Support Services as our preferred service provider, in the event that we go ahead. Currently, we are speaking with the community before we formalise arrangements with a service provider.
Who is Manaaki Support Services?
Manaaki Support Services is the specialist reintegration subsidiary of Goodwood Park Healthcare Group. Goodwood Park have been delivering reintegration services for people managed by Ara Poutama Aotearoa for around eight years. They have also been providing high quality residential and community services to people with traumatic brain injuries and mental health issues for over thirty years.
Why does Ara Poutama Aotearoa work with service providers to deliver residential services?
We engage experienced service providers to provide the specialised skills needed to deliver residential services like Rangiuru Road. They work with Community Corrections staff, such as probation officers, to provide reintegration support for people who we manage. They have existing relationships with key local and regional stakeholders, such as health and hauora providers, employment brokers or agencies that provide training in living or budgeting skills.
Some of the service providers that we work with include Goodwood Park, Salvation Army, Emerge Aotearoa and iwi-providers.
How many people use Ara Poutama Aotearoa’s transitional accommodation services?
Currently, around 1,100 people throughout New Zealand make use of our transitional accommodation services each year. This includes emergency accommodation, and supported services, like the one proposed for Rangiuru Road.
