7.2 Education Qualifications
For reasons that are unclear, almost one third of the IOMS records of sentenced inmates at the time of the census contained no data on the level of educational achievement. Available information however did suggest that the majority of inmates have no educational qualifications, with just 16 percent recorded as having a qualification such as School Certificate or higher.
